Commercial Electrical Services, Scheduled Around Your Business

Offices, retail stores, restaurants, warehouses and commercial properties: we plan work for evenings, overnights and weekends when the job calls for it, so your staff and customers never work around us. Every job is scoped and priced upfront, with the ESA notification and inspection handled.

01

Lighting retrofits and repairs

Brighter space, lower hydro bill, doors open.

We retrofit, repair and replace interior, exterior and parking lot lighting, working at night, on weekends or area by area so the space stays usable. Where housings are sound we fit LED retrofit kits instead of replacing whole fixtures, and we run our own scissor lift, so exterior work isn't held up waiting on rentals. Ask about Save on Energy incentives when you request a quote and we'll tell you what applies.

Fire alarm systems

Wired to code, documented for your inspector.

We install complete fire alarm systems: the panel, pull stations, detectors, horns and strobes, and the wiring between them. We trace trouble codes to the source instead of silencing them, coordinate the certified inspections the Ontario Fire Code requires, and correct any deficiencies they find, with the documentation to close the file with your inspector and insurer.

Emergency power and generators

When the power fails, your business doesn't.

We size, install and wire standby generators and automatic transfer switches, so an outage doesn't mean lost sales, spoiled inventory or a dark building. Sizing starts with a load calculation of what has to run during an outage. We also test, service and repair generators we didn't install, and coordinate the licensed gas fitter for the gas connection.

Panel changes and service upgrades

Capacity for what your business runs next.

Out of breaker space or tripping under new equipment? A load calculation tells you whether the panel, the service or just the distribution needs to change. Cutovers are coordinated with your utility and scheduled off-hours where possible, grounding and bonding are brought up to current code on every upgrade, and three-phase conversions are often possible, depending on what the utility can supply.

Commercial renovations and fit-outs

Built for GC schedules.

For storefronts, offices and restaurants we handle the electrical from demo to final inspection: rough-in, lighting, panels, fire alarm, exit signs and emergency lighting. We quote from your drawings or build the scope with you, hit the rough-in window when framing is ready, and flag the code upgrades a layout change triggers before they surface at inspection.

Maintenance, emergency lighting and multi-site work

One schedule and one set of records.

Preventative maintenance programs with thermal imaging and testing, monthly and annual emergency lighting tests to the Ontario Fire Code with the dated log your inspector expects, and multi-location programs for regional and national brands. Portfolio contracts mean one schedule, one contractor and one set of records across every building.

Commercial Electrical Questions

A commercial electrician installs, maintains and repairs the electrical systems in businesses: lighting, panels and services, fire alarms, emergency power, and the wiring behind fit-outs and renovations. Commercial buildings often run three-phase power and heavier loads than homes, and the work has to be scheduled around the business. Charged Electric is ECRA/ESA licensed 7011473 and handles all of it, from a single storefront to multi-location rollouts.
