Emergency Lighting Inspection & Testing
Monthly and annual emergency lighting inspections, testing and repairs for commercial and industrial facilities across Southwestern Ontario. Ontario Fire Code compliant, documented in the format your fire inspector expects.

What the Ontario Fire Code Expects
Compliance
Emergency and exit lighting is one of the few building systems the law requires you to test on a schedule, and one of the easiest to fall behind on. Most facilities that fail a fire inspection on lighting didn't know they were behind.
What a compliant program includes:
Monthly function tests of emergency lights and exit signs
Annual full-duration tests, where battery units must carry their full required run time
Failed batteries, heads and exit signs repaired or replaced, most on the same visit
Test records maintained in the format fire inspectors ask to see
Recurring scheduled visits, so compliance never depends on someone remembering
One contract can cover every building in your portfolio, on one schedule with one set of records.

Compliance on a Calendar, Not a Scramble
Charged Electric inspects, tests and repairs emergency lighting for offices, plants, restaurants, retail and multi-unit buildings across Southwestern Ontario.
Emergency lighting
- On a Standing Schedule
- Monthly and annual tests booked ahead for the whole year, so the log book never has gaps.
- Inspector-Ready Records
- Dated test logs with deficiencies and corrections, kept in the format fire inspectors ask for.
- Repairs on the Same Visit
- Most failed batteries, heads and exit signs can be repaired or replaced while we're already on site.
- Licensed, Insured, ESA Inspected
- ECRA/ESA licensed 7011473 and fully insured, so failed units get properly repaired, not just flagged.
Where Units Fail and Why It Matters
Common findings
Battery units degrade silently. The pilot light glows, the monthly button test passes, and the battery still can't carry a real outage. The annual full-duration test is where the truth comes out.
What we find most often:
Battery packs past their service life that pass a 30-second test and die at 20 minutes
Exit signs with burnt lamps or dead LED boards
Remote heads knocked out of aim or disconnected during renovations
Coverage gaps after layout changes, where egress paths moved but the lighting didn't
If your log book has gaps or the date of your last full-duration test is a mystery, start with a baseline inspection. Request a quote and we'll respond within one business day.

They installed a whole home generator for us. Top notch job! Everything went tickity boo. A lot of work involved but the trades were all very professional and explained the job to us as we went along. Other contractors wouldn’t even return our calls. Highly recommend! Local too!

I had them come help me with issues when I had my Lyric Thermostat. On time (early), pet friendly (did not mind my hyper chocolate lab) and price range very reasonable. I would highly recommend Charged Electric in the future.
