Residential Electrical Services, From Small Jobs to Full Renovations

Every job starts with a clear scope and an upfront price and ends with the ESA inspection handled for you. Whether it's a single outlet or a full basement finish, you get a licensed electrician, work wired to code, and a clean house when we leave.

01

Panel upgrades and service capacity

Room for an EV charger, heat pump or hot tub.

Fuse box, crowded panel or not enough power for what's next? We run a load calculation first: sometimes a 100 to 200 amp upgrade is the answer, and sometimes load management solves it for less. Most panel swaps take a single day, power off in the morning and back the same day, and we can work to your insurer's deadline if they've flagged the panel.

02

EV chargers and backup generators

Charge at home. Keep the heat on in an outage.

We install hardwired and plug-in Level 2 EV chargers on a dedicated circuit, including underground runs to detached garages and driveway pads dug with our own mini excavator. For outages, we size and install standby generators with automatic transfer switches, covering the essentials or the whole home, and coordinate the licensed gas fitter for the gas connection.

03

Pot lights and home lighting

Clean layouts and dimmers that don't flicker.

Pot lights are planned on paper first, with IC-rated fixtures for insulated ceilings and dimmers matched to the LEDs so they dim smoothly. Openings are cut clean to fixture size and wires are fished through the joists, so most rooms need no drywall repair. Outside, we design and install landscape and security lighting with GFCI protection and wet-location fixtures.

04

Renovations, basements and electric heating

Wired while the walls are open.

We handle the wiring, panel work and ESA permits for renovations and basement finishes, working alongside your general contractor or directly with you. Rough-in happens before insulation and drywall, and we return for devices, fixtures and finals. It's also the right time for electric in-floor heating, since the cables sit under the floor covering; baseboard heaters can go into a finished room any time.

24/7 emergency electrician

No power, burning smell, breaker that won't reset.

Call +1 (519) 469-9797 any time, day or night, including weekends and holidays. We tell you the cost before work starts, even at 2 a.m., and we fix the cause, not the symptom: a breaker that keeps tripping means something on that circuit is overloading, shorting or leaking to ground. If something is sparking or smoking, get out and call 911 first.

ESA defect corrections and older wiring

Close the file with your insurer.

Received an ESA defect notice or an insurance letter? We quote the corrections item by item from the notice, bring a previous owner's or an unlicensed installer's work up to current code, and see the re-inspection through. Aluminum branch circuits, ungrounded outlets and crowded panels are routine finds, and we tell you what code requires, what we recommend and what can safely stay.

Home Electrical Work, Done to Code

Charged Electric has served homeowners across Waterloo Region since 2016. Every job starts with a clear scope and an upfront price, and ends with the ESA inspection handled for you. Whether it's a panel upgrade, an EV charger or a breaker that keeps tripping, our licensed electricians do it right the first time.

24/7 emergency response

Electrical problems don't wait for business hours. Call any time, day or night, and a licensed electrician answers.

Licensed, insured, ESA inspected

ECRA/ESA licensed 7011473 and fully insured. We file the ESA notification and book the inspection on every job, so your home and your insurance stay protected.

Upfront pricing

You approve a firm scope and price before any work starts. No hourly guesswork, and no surprises on the final bill.

No job too small

A single outlet, a light fixture or a tripping breaker gets the same licensed electrician and the same standard as a full renovation.

Works with your contractor

Most renovation work runs through a general contractor or builder. We hit rough-in when framing is ready and return for finals, so the schedule keeps moving.

Clean, careful work

We quote it straight, wire it to code, and clean up before we leave.

Residential Electrical Questions

A residential electrician installs, upgrades and repairs the wiring in homes: panels and service upgrades, lighting, EV chargers, generators, renovation wiring and troubleshooting. In Ontario, anyone you hire for electrical work must be a Licensed Electrical Contractor, and most jobs need a notification filed with the Electrical Safety Authority. Charged Electric is ECRA/ESA licensed 7011473 and files that notification on every job.

Yes, most residential electrical work in Ontario requires a notification filed with the Electrical Safety Authority. We file the ESA notification and book the inspection on every job we do, so the work is documented and your home insurance stays valid. You never touch the paperwork.

It depends on the size of the service, the condition of your existing wiring, and whether your utility needs to be involved. We look at your setup first, then quote a firm price upfront. You approve the number before any work starts, and that's the number you pay.

Yes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you've lost power, smell something burning, or have a breaker that won't reset, call +1 (519) 469-9797 any time. We're based in New Hamburg, so most emergency calls across Wilmot Township and Kitchener-Waterloo are close by.

Yes. A single outlet, a light fixture, a tripping breaker, or an ESA defect correction all get the same licensed electrician and the same standard as a full renovation. No job is too small to do to code.
